A family from Lincolnshire lost 43 stones in 18 months

Maver weight loss A family from Lincolnshire has been able to lose 43 stones in between in the last 18 months after getting concerned about their health. In May 2006, Andrew Maver who is 47 from Skegness went through an operation to reduce his stomach size in a bid to scale down his 44 stones size.

Mr Maver has been able to lose 25 stones and his sister Jane has been able to lower her 29 stones weight by 12 stone. His mother Jean, who is 67, has been able to lose 6 stones. According to Mr Maver, weight loss had changed his life.

"Mobility was the biggest problem - just being able to get about, fitting into seats and I had really serious back problems," he said. "

The whole family follows a healthy diet and stuck to a healthy exercise program to lose the big stone. Maver’s mother said that her original weight of 21 stone was creating a lot of problems for her. But her son Maver encourages her to start a healthy diet.

"This has given me a new lease of life and I would say to anyone who was struggling with their weight, just persevere. "People are ostracised because of their weight and it is wrong but that's the world we live in."

The Maver’s family has now started a new business in Skegness, which is to help people to lose weight.
